Why it is our Trending Pick
Kids' clothes are small but surprisingly bulky, and a week of hoodies and pajamas can swallow a carry-on. The BAGSMART compression packing cubes are for families trying to go carry-on only, or to fit two kids' wardrobes into the space of one, with a look that matches modern luggage.
They take the Trending slot in our family packing cubes roundup. Our research recommended the Away Insider cubes for their design cohesion with the Away ecosystem; the Amazon link sells the BAGSMART Compression Cubes, so this page describes the BAGSMART set and flags the swap. The BAGSMART compression packing cubes earn attention on their own: a clean, coordinated look, a compression zipper that flattens soft clothing, and sizes that work in carry-ons as well as checked bags. They are the set a lot of parents are buying right now because they solve the space problem without looking like camping gear.
On a trip the routine is to fill each cube, zip the first zipper, then pull the compression zipper to flatten it. Each child's clothes become a dense slab that stacks neatly in the suitcase, and the leftover space goes to shoes and toys. For a beach vacation the compression helps most with cover-ups and towels; for a ski trip it tames fleece. Unzip at the hotel and everything expands back out.
The drawback is wrinkles and zipper strain: compressed clothes crease more, and overstuffing stresses the second zipper over time. Weight does not change, so airline limits still apply. Skip them if you pack mostly jeans and shoes, which do not compress. Check the Amazon listing for the current set size, dimensions and colors.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to what travelers ask most about bagsmart compression cubes.
How much space do BAGSMART compression packing cubes save?
The saving depends on what you pack: soft, lofty items like fleece and pajamas compress well, while jeans and structured clothes barely change. Expect a noticeable difference on kids' wardrobes. Check the Amazon listing for the current sizes to plan your bag.
Do compression cubes damage clothes or zippers?
Compression itself does not harm fabric, but it adds wrinkles and the second zipper takes strain when cubes are overfilled. Fill to the first zipper line, then compress, and the cubes last longer. Check the listing for care instructions.
Are BAGSMART compression cubes good for a carry-on suitcase?
Yes, they are among the better choices for carry-on travel because they flatten soft clothing. Compare the cube dimensions on the Amazon listing with your carry-on's interior to pick the sizes that tile the bag best.
